Is your business shutting down on 22 December for the Christmas period?

22 December is just 29 days from now…

Don’t forget that in May of this year, more than 70 Awards became the subject of new rules around shutdowns (including shutdowns over the Christmas and New Year period).

Among the new rules is an obligation for employers to provide impacted employees with at least 28 days’ written notice of a temporary shutdown.

In addition, any requirement for an employee to take annual leave during a shutdown period must be reasonable.

Non-compliance with the new rules could leave your business exposed to paying its employees even when your business is closed.
